Welcome to New Ash Green Primary School

Headteacher's message

Dear Parents and Carers

I would like to welcome you to New Ash Green Primary School.  Thank you for visiting our website.  On here you will find information on all aspects of our school life and its community.  New Ash Green Primary is set in a semi-rural village location.  We have extensive grounds, including an ancient orchard and woodland walks to enhance our children’s learning experience, as well as three playgrounds and a sports field.

The school has been recognised as ‘Good’  by Ofsted in November 2012.  They highlighted many strengths of our school and recognised     the hard work and dedication of our staff.  The report illustrates how well our teachers plan their lessons and how this, along with the excellent support from teaching assistants, contributes to the good progress made by pupils.  They also commented on how well the school has improved and how the leadership team has the vision to further continue this.

We believe that every child should succeed in our school and thrive due to excellent teaching and high expectation.  Every child’s contribution to the school is valued and we recognise and celebrate every child’s achievements and milestones.  Our school has a caring, family ethos and with parents and staff working collectively.   We firmly believe that ‘Together Everyone Achieves More’.

My staff and I hope that you take time to view our website and if you are interested in seeing how the school works in action please contact us via telephone or email.

Mrs C A Cain

'New Ash Green Primary School is a GOOD school.' (Ofsted 2012)

  • The school is well led and managed. The headteacher, deputy headteacher, senior leaders and governing body have made significant improvements over the last two years in all areas of school life and are committed to continuing this further.
  • Pupils are making good progress from their starting points and attainment is rising steadily at the end of Year 2 and Year 6.
  • Disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs are supported well and the majority make good progress from their starting points.
  •  Pupils in the Reception classes make good progress from starting points that are generally below those expected for their age.
  • Teaching has improved considerably over the past two years as a result of good leadership and the majority is consistently good across all key stages and continuing to improve rapidly.
  • Pupils enjoy coming to school and are polite and friendly to their friends and adults. Their attitude to learning is good and they are keen to improve their knowledge and understanding.
  • Senior leaders are rigorous in their monitoring of teaching and pupils’ progress so they know exactly how well the school is doing and what needs to be done to improve even further.
