Reading skills to practise during the week:
We are continuing to look at the Lost Myth of Mathos and introducing some writing and other activities based around the chapters you have already read. See below for the chapter and activity that will be available each day. They have been set as 2Dos.
Monday – Chapter 1 This chapter describes a torrential storm. Write down the sights and sounds that you would experience and remember to use metaphors and similes. Use these ideas to write a poem about the storm.
Tuesday – Chapter 2 Imagine that you have just taken a ride on a magical animal. Was it as fast as a racing car? What did you see on your travels? Write about your experience.
Wednesday – Chapter 3 In this chapter we meet the Kraken. Imagine that you have just seen a mythical creature. Write a detailed description of what you saw.
Thursday – Chapter 4 Mathos and Sariena are on their way to defeat the Chrysaor. Will their plan work? What problems might the encounter? Write the next part of the story.
Friday – Chapter 5 We have got to know Mathos and Sariena well during the story. Use the template to compare the two characters.
If you have time you could also practise your spellings which are in the back of your contact books. You could choose 5-10 words that you cannot spell yet and learn how to spell them. You could write the words in a pyramid shape or do vowels in one colour and consonants in another.
