This term we have been extremely busy in Year 6. We have enjoyed our outdoor learning sessions and have created wonderful natural mandalas from materials that we found in the orchard.
We have also been grouping and classifying living things in science. We used our own criteria and sorting methods to decide how best to compare animals. We found that some categories worked well, but for some, we found animals that did not fit and had to re-evaluate our choices.
Finally, we were lucky enough to win an author visit from actor and author Clive Mantle. We enjoyed listening to him talk about his books and then he shared an extract with us. We loved watching him read with such expression and drama! We then were able to ask questions and share our own cover art designs for his book. Everyone had a wonderful time and we were all left feeling inspired. We are also making sure that we remember his advice- “The more you read, the better your adventures will be!”
